Houston private-school headed to NU

Houston Bellaire Episcopal athlete David Nwabuisi is a triple-threat with tremendous grades, size and speed.
Nwabuisi starred at running back this season, but projects as an inside linebacker at the Division I level. While several schools have been through Bellaire's private school halls, one school has struck a chord with the 6-foot-1, 230-pound athlete.

"Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald came through the other day and offered David," Episcopal coach Steve Leese said. "Coach Fitz did a great job with David explaining the recruiting process and what to expect on the college level. He was a great linebacker at Northwestern, so he knows the position. I think he'll end up at Northwestern."
Nwabuisi rushed for 1,375 yards and 16 touchdowns on offense, while also starting on defense.
"He's a physical kid," Leese said. "He became a great running back and didn't shy away from contact. He had great pad leverage. He can use that knowledge at linebacker in college."
Nwabuisi will be visiting Northwestern and has also been offered by Rice, Vanderbilt and Tulane.
"He really was waiting on UCLA to offer him, but I think he's done with that with a new staff coming in," Leese said. "I think he'll be a Wildcat."
