Houston planning three trips

John Houston was sure of two official visits and now the five-star linebacker has added a third one for this upcoming season.
The Gardena (Calif.) Serra standout had locked up trips to Oregon and Florida State and Houston said Saturday at the Battle at the Beach 7on7 tournament that Oklahoma is going to get an official visit as well.

"They're a top team and I want to see what their facilities and everything else look like," Houston said. "I want to see what they have to offer up there.
"They write letters here and there and I read the letters and I try to stay in contact with the coaches as much as I can."
The top-rated outside linebacker by Rivals.com said no dates have been set for any three trips but that he would like to visit for big games this season.
Those three programs are in his sights and Houston said USC and UCLA are still under serious consideration as well but it's unlikely he will take official trips to either local school.
Houston is so familiar with both he would prefer to take his officials to other locales to get a better feel for what fits best. The Bruins and Trojans are still being looked at closely even if he's not taken an official to either one.
"It's been pretty quiet but before the dead period (USC coaches) were direct messaging me every day on Twitter, talking to me daily," Houston said. "I've been up there a couple times to talk to them. They're recruiting me pretty heavily.
"UCLA has been hitting me up every once in a while. I talk to the coaches as much as I do from USC. I just want to see them play this season and see if they can do it again, do it better."
As for a favorite, Houston isn't ready to name any schools.
"It's too early for that," he said.
