Houston OL getting props

It's not often that an offensive lineman gets his dues. Well, that's changing in Houston, as Pearland, Texas, offensive lineman Trevor Rees has been nominated for one of the finalists for the Houston Touchdown Club player of the year award.
"It's quite an honor to even be nominated as one of the final eight," Rees, who is 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds, said. "The ceremony is on Tuesday. It's just an honor to be one of the final eight since I'm an offensive lineman."

Along with that honor, Rees has become a hot target on the recruiting front.
With his ability to move his feet quite well and pass block effectively, Rees has picked up around 10 scholarship offers and has set up five official visits.
"I go up to Northwestern this weekend," he said. "It's going to be cold, but I've been up there for camp and can handle the cold."
After Northwestern, Rees will visit Rice next weekend and then Kansas on December 20. Clemson gets a visit on January 10 and TCU is the final trip on January 24.
He's already received in-home visits from Rice, Clemson, Houston, Northwestern and Kansas. TCU and Purdue have been by the school to see him.
"It's pretty hectic around here," he said. "That's why I can't wait to start to take my visits and see what all of the schools have to offer."
Rees does not claim a leader at this point in the process.
