Houston lineman has Big 12 offer

Klein (Texas) Collins offensive tackle Chance Allen was a solid player for the Tigers as a junior and now the 6-foot-5, 295-pound prospect is starting to get noticed by colleges. He recently picked up his first two offers, including one from a Big 12 program.
"I've received two offers so far - Kansas State and Lamar," Allen said. "Lamar came in about a month ago or a little bit before and then Kansas State came in a few weeks after that.

"The Kansas State one came as a surprise but Lamar had been sending me a lot of stuff. Kansas State offered me when I went to their junior day. I thought it was really nice. I'm going to visit again for their spring game too."
In addition, a couple more schools could send offers Allen's way.
"I think Rice might be close to offering me as well," he said. "I've got a couple other junior days I'm going to also. I'll be going to Rice's and then I'm going up to Kansas on March 31."
Allen admits that a couple of schools have caught his eye early in the recruiting process.
"Right now I guess Kansas State is (the leader)," he said. "I don't really have a favorite school but I guess that would be the one that is sticking out right now.
"I hope that Oklahoma State and Michigan State offer. I'd really like to go to one of those schools. I'm hearing from both of those schools. Both of them are sending me mail and stuff."
Allen is not in a rush to make a commitment though.
"I'm going to wait to commit anywhere until after my spring football," he said.
