Houston enjoys official visit to UTEP

One surprise official visitor this past weekend to UTEP was Converse (Texas) Judson outside linebacker Travis Houston. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound two-star prospect has been holding a Miner offer for sometime and finally made his way to El Paso.
His father, Tim Houston, said that both he and his son enjoyed their time there.

"It was a good visit," Houston's father said. "They have a good program. That's about the best way to put it. They showed us the campus, the academics, they covered the stadium, the facilities, team meetings, and the whole nine yards. It was a good visit."
"They left nothing in doubt for us."
Though his son has not made his commitment yet, it could be coming. One more visit will take place first.
"Baylor is supposed to be the last visit for us on Jan. 27, this last weekend here," Houston's father said. "We did Texas State the weekend before this past one and so this should wrap it up. Everything is set for this last trip unless something comes up."
Favorites are still not coming out.
"We have been leaving it open to see what the options are before we come out with something," Houston's father said. "There are still offers out on the table. What I've been teaching him is that it's about where you fit in because five years is a long time."
"That's what we're making sure of right now."
