Houston DE gathering interest

Houston (Texas) Westside defensive end Tyrone Minor is beginning to get quite a bit of attention from colleges as the spring evaluation period draws closer.
“I get quite a bit of mail,” the 6-foot-4, 250-pound Minor said. “There are a lot of schools sending stuff, but none have sent me an offer yet.”

The schools sending mail include LSU, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska.
“I would say LSU sends me the most mail,” he said. “I have a lot of interest in a lot of schools. I want to find out what the schools can offer me as a student. I hope to major in engineering.
“I want to find the best place for me to continue my career and my education. My parents have told me they will support me with my choice. They want me to find a good place. I’m not picky on whether it is close to home or not.”
Minor has one camp on the calendar as of now.
“I am planning on going to the NIKE camp in Baton Rouge in May,” he said. “That’s the only one I have set.”
Minor helped Westside to a 10-2 record as a junior while he recorded 35 tackles and eight quarterback sacks. His efforts earned him all-district honors.
