Houston ATH postpones weekend trip

Houston (Texas) Spring Woods athlete Catron Houston has already taken three official visits and was planning a fourth for this weekend, but the talented prospect has decided to take a little break from recruiting until the first of the year.
“Catron has decided to just sit back and relax for a bit,” Spring Woods coach Dwayne Eggerman said. “He is just going to wait until after the first of the year to take any more visits.”

The 6-foot, 185-pound Houston was scheduled to attend Kansas State this weekend, but will likely reschedule the trip for sometime in January, now.
“Catron just wanted the break,” Eggerman said. “There isn’t anything hidden to it, or anything else going on. He’s been on the go and wanted to stay home. I don’t know when he is going to take the trip to Kansas State, but I am pretty sure he will still take it.”
Houston has already visited Arizona State, Arkansas and Texas Tech. He also has a Jan. 14 trip scheduled to Texas A&M.
“He has enjoyed the other trips so far,” the coach said. “They are all good places and treated him well, and they all have their own thing that makes each of them unique. He’s looking forward to seeing the other two before making his choice.”
Eggerman said the schools were recruiting Houston as a wide receiver.
“He is an outstanding player. He is one of the best I have ever coached an he has a way of just making things happen when he gets his hands on the ball. When he gets in the open field, he is a tough kid to bring down. Nearly all of the schools are recruiting him as a wide receiver.”
