Houston ATH close to deciding

Houston Furr athlete Ervin Jefferson favors Nebraska, but a new school is making up ground on the Cornhuskers.
The Utah Utes have offered the inner city prospect, who had been rumored to be close to a commitment to Nebraska.

"He was offered by Utah last week and I think he is considering them," Furr coach Cornell Gray said. "He's our leader and is a three-way starter for us. He's a once in a decade type of kid."
Jefferson (6-1, 190-pounds) has made no waves that he favors the Cornhuskers, but Utah, Houston and UTEP have his attention. All of the aforementioned schools have offered, according to Jefferson and Gray.
"Houston coach Art Briles has been to our practices and likes him a lot along with UTEP," he said. "He has offers from them and could commit there."
Jefferson wants to verbally commit before the beginning of the season to concentrate on the season and the SAT test.
The two-time, first-team, all-district selection starts as a cornerback and receiver for Furr, and returns kicks.
