Houston announcing Friday

Matthews (N.C.) Butler running back Ryan Houston, all 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds of him, will be announcing his college destination live on ESPNU on Friday afternoon at 12:45 p.m. Houston will be choosing between Miami, Florida, Clemson and North Carolina.
"It's down to those four," he said. "I feel really good about each of them, but I feel comfortable enough to make my decision."

Houston, who rushed for 1,914 yards and 34 touchdowns, spoke a bit about each of his favorites.
"Clemson I feel really comfortable with the coaches and coach Napier is really down-to-earth," he said. "I got to take a look around when I was at the NIKE Camp there and they have a great program in a very good conference.
"Florida I've visited twice and coach Holliday is a good person. They are a big-time school and play in the SEC so the competition is great. I also know Carl Johnson and Brandon Spikes really well and they want me to play down there.
"North Carolina I've also visited a couple of times and I like the coaches. Coach Brock is recruiting me but the whole staff has been involved. My friend Hakeem Nicks committed there last year and will be playing there. He and I went to school together in middle school and we're close.
"Miami has always been my dream school. Everyone wanted to go to Miami when I was growing up and they're on television all the time in big games. The level of competition they play is great. Coach Hurtt is recruiting me and he's a good guy, all the coaches are."
Houston was rumored to be making his announcement last weekend, but gave it another week.
"I wanted to make sure I was making the right choice," he said. "This is a big decision and I need to do the right thing. I feel comfortable now."
On film, Houston is reminiscent of Louisville running back Michael Bush with his size, power and deceptive quickness.
