One of the top all-purpose players in the state this past season was Palmdale's (Calif.) Tyreace House. The athlete has a handful of schools on his short list he's looking at but he has yet to set up a visit and is waitng for his SAT score to come in before he does so.
House, 5-9, 180 pounds is an explosive player who had a strong showing at the SoCal Nike last summer where he clocked a 4.47 in the 40 and a 4.25 in the shuttle. He has played some running back and receiver this year and put up solid numbers whenever he got the call.
In eight games this season, House carried the ball 37 times for 387 yards and four touchdowns to go with 22 catches for 547 yards and two more scores. He also had 136 yards on three punt returns including a 96 yard touchdown.
On the recruiting front, House said he's hearing from four schools- Washington, San Diego State, UNLV and Utah.
"Washington and UNLV have offered me," House said. "I had an offer from Fresno State too but they already have two running back commitments and are no longer recruiting me.
"I like Washington a lot right now, they're my top school. I took the SAT two weeks ago and all those schools said they're waiting on my score before they trip me in. One factor for me is I want to play baseball in college too and both Washington and UNLV have told me that they don't have a problem with that.
"I'm also looking for a place where I'm comfortable with the players and coaches and just a general comfort level. Hopefully I can get some trips in pretty soon because I know signing day is coming up pretty soon here and I know I don't have a lot of time left."
