Spanish Fort (Ala.) offensive tackle Grant Horst has committed to UAB over an offer from Louisiana. Horst attended both schools summer camps and had the Blazers out in front since that time.
He cited location as a big factor in his decision. The tough road grader said, "My brother plays at Samford in Birmingham and that was big for me to be close to him."
The Bulldogs of Samford and the Ragin' Cajuns are still actively recruiting him. He stated, "If Samford offered it would be great to play with my brother, but I'm solid to UAB. I like the staff and new head coach Garrick McGee."
