Size and Speed: Williams is 5-foot-11 and 170-pounds. He has been timed at 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He also placed second in the 100-meter dash as a sophomore with a time of 10.12 seconds.
Statistics: As a junior Williams caught 15 passes for 219 yards. He also averaged 34.9 yards per kick return on special teams.
Honors: Williams was named first-team all-district for his return talents. He also took home second team all-district honors as a wide receiver.
Favorite Schools: Williams has Texas, Oklahoma State and Houston at the top of his list. He also continues to receive mail from Missouri, LSU, Arkansas, Florida and Texas A&M.
Skinny: “We get a load of letters every day for Ivory,” Beaumont Central coach David Suggs said. “I’ve had to write them down, so I know who all has sent things. Right now he is favoring Texas, Oklahoma State and Houston. But, things change, so we'll see.”
Suggs knows that whoever gets Williams is going to be getting a quality person as well as a player.
“Ivory is a quality athlete. That’s what everyone is looking for. But he also has quality work habits. He is highly coachable. But most importantly he has a desire to win. That is what sets him apart. He wants to win about as badly as any I’ve ever seen.”
Williams is one of the Lone Star State’s top sprinters and that talent will again prevent him from participating in summer football camps.
“Ivory went to a lot of track meets during the summer. He’s good at it, and I’ll try and talk him out of skipping all of the camps. But I’m sure he’ll have a full load of track meets again.”
