Hoover avoids scare

Hoover, Ala. is one of the top programs in the nation. They made their national TV debut against Nease on ESPN two weeks ago, a game they won gong away, thanks in large part to offensive lineman Bryan Morgan. This past week they moved to 2-0, but not without a scare.
"We beat Thompson 21-18," Morgan said. "Thompson is a good team, a very good team, but not the best we'll see this year. That game was a wake up call for us, we were taking things too lightly. You have to play your best every week or you'll get beat and we didn't, but luckily we squeezed it out."

The 6-foot-2, 245-pound Morgan runs the 40-yard dash in five seconds flat, has a 315-pound bench press and has a 500-pound squat.
"I have gotten calls so far from Vanderbilt, UAB, Memphis and Furman," Morgan said. "Middle Tennessee State offered me recently amd Louisville and Duke offered a while back. I haven't heard from Duke or Louisville yet, but I'm sure they'll be calling soon."
Morgan is ranked as the No. 33 player in the state of Alabama by Rivals.com.
"I really don't have any favorites or anything right now," Morgan said. "I'm more concentrated on my senior season at this point. I did not go to any games this past weekend, but I think I am going to go to UAB's first home game, I think they play Southern Miss, but I can't remember exactly."
