Jack Denton has scholarship number two. The linebacker-fullback out of Zionsville (Ind.) picked up an offer this week from the Hoosiers.
"They offered a couple of days ago," Denton said. "I know a lot about the program. My mom and dad went to IU. They are definitely up on my list. But I am keeping my options open."
Recruiting is picking up for the 6-foot-2 prospect. Denton provides the ability to play on either side of the ball. He says Indiana is looking at him as a linebacker, so is Michigan State and Kentucky.
"All of them are saying it is possible I could play on offense too. I really do like Kentucky a lot. Michigan State, Purdue, and Ball State as well. I know I am going to get more offers later. This is going to be a hard decision."
Denton says he is not sure what camps he will go to this summer, but he hopes to get down to Kentucky to earn an offer.
"They want me to come down," Denton said. "The way they go about offering scholarships is the position coach finds a prospect, they he presents the prospect to the entire defensive or offensive staff. Right now, they are all talking me over. They want to see more recent linebacker film. I only have sophomore clips out there. To they need me to get to camp to learn more. They are really close to offering and really interested."
Denton says every school that is recruiting him has been by Zionsville High School, or plans to swing by soon. Michigan State visited his school on Thursday and Wake Forest plans to be in sometime this week.
