"I was awaiting offers from Wisconsin
and Oklahoma until Monday, June 2," linebacker Paul Szczesny said. "But I'm leaving for Europe so I chose Indiana over USC and Washington because they were my first offers."
"(Wisconsin assistant) Coach Ianello called on Friday and told me they were going to probdaly offer on Monday officially, but I had to make a decison and I did."
"I just felt Indiana had more to offer."
The 6-foot-2 and 239 pounder from Pima (Az.) Junior College is originally from Niles (Ill.) Notre Dame. In addition to Wisconsin, Illinois was another Big Ten school that had been showing interest in Szczesny before he selected Indiana.
