Hoops or football for Ohio WR

Wide receiver Kyle Hubbard is a football and basketball star for Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is getting heavily recruited by elite schools in both sports. Does Hubbard have any early favorites?
"I'm starting to hear a lot more for football from Miami and I've been getting letters from other schools like Georgia Tech, Georgia, Texas and just about everyone in the Big Ten," he said. "I'm also getting interest in basketball after averaging eight points and five rebounds a game last year. I've gotten mail from Marquette, Pittsburgh, Indiana and others.

"At the moment, I haven't decided which sport I'll choose. If the right offer comes I'll take it either way. I'm open to everybody right now."
In football, Hubbard has a handful of teams that are standing out for his services.
"I'm kind of favoring Ohio State, Michigan, Miami and Texas," he said. "I'd say they are all pretty even because they are all good programs. I like Ohio State because I've been raised in-state and then Michigan is their big rival. Meanwhile, I like Miami a lot because it's a warm place and I like Kellen Winslow a lot. He's a big receiver like me that is athletic and they have a program that produces amazing talent.
"Finally, I like Texas a lot especially after the Rose Bowl victory. They really showed me that they have a lot of dedication and a family atmosphere on that team."
Hubbard hauled in 58 receptions for 800 yards and six touchdowns last season. He finished the year earning all-conference, all-district and all-county honors. Remarkably the wide receiver prospect has only been playing football a couple years.
"Up until a couple years ago I was a big basketball fan and that was the only sport I played," he said. "I started playing football last year and it's really starting to pan out for me. A lot of colleges have told my coach that because I'm a late bloomer, if I have another good year I'll probably get a lot of offers."
This spring Hubbard plans to head to the Elite College Combine and Nike Camp at Ohio State in May.
