Hoop dreams or gridiron greatness

Football or basketball?
That's the big question for three-star athlete Bryant Allen of Maplewood (Mo.) Richmond Heights.

The 6-foot, 160-pound athlete is a star both on the football field and on the basketball court.
While most of his offers – Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico and Wisconsin – have come in football, a part of him still hasn't shut the door on basketball either.
So of it came down to either playing basketball or football in college which would he chose?
"I don't know yet," he said. "I am still undecided. I would like to both though. I am not sure though. It's a tough decision. I love both sports quite a bit. Football is something that I really enjoy, but a part of me also wants to see what develops in basketball."
When it comes to football recruiting, things have been kind of slow this summer because of the time he's spent on the AAU circuit. He doesn't have any major new offers and is still a ways off from narrowing his list.
"I haven't really talked with my parents yet," he said. "We plan on doing that in the fall, me and my parents are. I don't really have a favorite either. I am just enjoying the recruiting process. I am interested in the schools recruiting me. I just don't have a favorite. I have a lot of schools I like, though."
And those schools include all that have offered him and Iowa State, which has not. At this point Allen said he's now starting to get ready for the season opener against Park Hills Central.
"I am just ready for the whole football season to start," he said. "This is my last year. I am going all out, I am going to be ready for every game this year."
