Hood holds handful of offers

Arlington (Texas) Bowie did not produce many top recruits in the class of 2011. However, that seems to be the exception and not the rule for the Volunteers. The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex school usual has quite a bit of talent and it looks to return to form in the class of 2012.
Several prospects at the school already hold multiple offers and another has added his name to the list. Defensive tackle Demonte Hood already holds a handful himself.

"I have a few offers," the 6-foot, 290-pound Hood said. "I've been offered by Arkansas, Kansas State, Kansas, Washington State and San Diego State. Most of them came in a little while ago. North Carolina seems like they're close to offering. UCLA does too."
Hood's initial offer was actually one he shared with one of his fellow defensive linemen from Bowie.
"I believe it was Kansas State that was the first to offer," he said. "We talked about it over the phone and then I talked to coach (Joe Bob) Clements and he offered both me and Jessie Rogers. We play on the same defensive line and they like us both."
Though Hood has yet to unofficially visit any campuses he plans to change that in the near future.
"I haven't been anywhere yet," he said. "I'm supposed to be going this summer to all the colleges that have offered me. I just want to get out and see as many places as possible."
Since he has not made any visits, Hood says he is not ready to name a top group of schools. He does admit to being a big fan of one program in particular but says an offer is not likely to come from there.
"I'm open to everyone right now," Hood said. "I'm just keeping my options open. I mean, I would love Miami. I'm not going to lie to you - I would love to go to Miami. They don't take any d-tackles under 6-2 though. Other than that I am just keeping an open mind."
