Homecoming for DeMatha WR

Could a return to his roots be in store for Cameron Phillips? It's possible because the wide receiver from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha has an offer from North Carolina.
"When we played Durham (N.C.) Hillside for the first game of the season we practiced at Duke's facility and then the day after the game we went to North Carolina," said the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Phillips. "The atmosphere on game day was nice and they showed that they were really interested. I'm from there so I'd really like to go back."

Phillips also has offers from Virginia, Georgia Tech and Penn State.
"I've been watching Virginia play and we did a 7-on-7 tournament there, that's when I got my offer," he explained. "I keep in contact with the coaches and I get a lot of mail from them. I also watch Georgia Tech on game day.
"I watch Penn State play too but I haven't had a lot of contact with the coaches," said Phillips. "I'm not too worried about the sanctions. They've got a good coaching staff and Coach (Bill) O'Brien knows how to get players to the next level. The bowl games are nice but really, trying not to look too far down the line, I'd like to get the pros."
Is North Carolina in the lead for Phillips because he is from the Raleigh area?
"Everyone's pretty much even," he said. "The school I pick should have good academics and I want to be in a position where I can get on the field early and make an impact."
Some other schools that have been contacting Phillips are Wisconsin, Duke, Rutgers, Michigan, Virginia Tech and Maryland. So which one will offer him next?
"I'd have to say Rutgers would be the next to offer me because they talk to me the most."
