Holtz impressed by official to Pitt

Pittsburgh (Pa.) Shaler Area tight end JP Holtz took his second official visit this past weekend. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder made the short trip across town to Pittsburgh.
"It went well, I enjoyed it," Holtz said. "I just went up on an official visit and watched the game they played.

"There wasn't really anything new since I've grown up in Pittsburgh. I just got a feel for the team more and the coaches. I spent a lot of time with the players and coaches and got a feel for what it's like there."
Holtz was hosted by Chris Jacobson.
"It was good with him, we bonded really well," he said. "I really like him and he helped me out a lot, he knows everything."
Of course, Holtz got time with the coaches too.
"Yeah, I got a lot of time with them," he said. "I went out Friday night and Saturday night with them. I spent time with them today.
"They just told me they really want me and they said I can play early. They also said they are coming to see me on Wednesday."
So, did the visit do much for Pittsburgh?
"Yeah, it helped them a lot," he said. "I just got an overall feel for the visit. I've visited Pittsburgh before, but I didn't get to go out with the teammates and stuff. I hung out with the team this weekend and bonded with them. I got to get a feel for what it's like to be a Pittsburgh Panther."
Holtz has no official visits set at this time, but noted that Penn State has dropped of his list.
Meanwhile, Michigan State, Arkansas, Maryland and perhaps Michigan are options he's considering.
"I was recruited by Michigan State and Maryland, so I already know them and their coaches. I'm not sure where I'm going for a visit, I might take a couple more trips."
