Holt names co-leaders

Easily one of the most versatile players anywhere in the West region is Encino (Calif.) Crespi athlete D.J. Holt. Holt could play a number of positions, on either side of the ball in college, and said two schools top his list at this time.
Holt, 6-0, 240 pounds plays both linebacker and defensive end on defense as well as wide receiver and running back on offense. He could also play tight end and is getting looks by some schools as a fullback/H-back. Still Holt is primarily being recruited by hi favorites as a linebacker and that's definitely his preference as well.

On the recruiting front, Holt has set three of his official visits, all for December and said he's considering three other schools for his last two remaining visits.
"I'm going to Arizona State (Dec. 1), Cal (Dec. 8) and Fresno State (Dec. 15)," Holt said. "For my last two trips, I'm looking at Washington, San Diego State and Utah but I'm leaning towards taking my visits to Washington and San Diego State.
"Cal and ASU are my top schools right now. Cal is close to home and I like the Bay area. Plus you have to like their football program, they're on top of the Pac 10 right now and looking good for the future. ASU has a good young staff and I like the area. I've been to Phoenix a few times before and Tempe is in a real nice area and I know a lot of people in the area.
"With Fresno State, that schools reminds me a lot of Crespi. Some of our coaches here played at Fresno State and they have patterned our program after Fresno's. So I can definitely see myself playing there because I love the way we run our program here at Crespi."
Crespi has a huge game this weekend against undefeated Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame, ranked No. 4 in the state.
"I think we're ready and we definitely feel we can knock them off," Holt said. "We've played a brutal schedule against teams like St. Bonaventure and Centennial, Corona and I know that will help us. They're a very good team with a huge offensive line so it's going to be a challenge but I think we have a great shot going in."
