Holt makes his decision

Cal hosted 18 players this past weekend and we've heard nothing but rave reviews from the players we talked with. One such player is Encino (Calif.) Crespi athlete D.J. Holt, who went ahead and made his college choice.
"I committed on the visit," Holt said. "I just had a great trip, just looking back at it, there isn't one single negative I can think of. The whole visit was really a highlight for me, I liked everything about it.

"For starters, the coaches at Cal are incredible. I felt closer with them than any other staff I talked with. I also got along really well with the players on the team as well as all the recruits on the visit. Coach Tedford and Coach Ferigno are great guys and I really bonded with everyone there.
"When you combine all of that with the academics at Cal, it became a pretty easy decision. This was my first time visiting Cal and I loved the campus and everything else there. They're brining me in as an outside linebacker and I think it's just a great fit for me."
Although his commitment looks solid, Holt said he still may take another visit or two.
"I'm supposed to visit Fresno State this weekend but that's kind of up in the air," Holt said. "Now that ASU has hired a new coach, I'm interested in hearing from them again and I'm also still hearing from Washington.
"I may take another visit or two just to have something to compare Cal to. My commitment is solid but I just want to be sure and this was my first visit."
