Holmes set to visit VT

It was recently revealed that Harrisonburg, Virginia running back Michael Holmes holds an offer from Virginia Tech, and now the talented junior is set to take a trip to Blacksburg.
The Hokies will be hosting a junior day for many of their top prospects next weekend and Holmes has let Rivals.com know that he will be in town for that event.

"Yeah, I'm going to be at VT next Saturday," Holmes confirmed in a text message on Sunday afternoon. "I'm going with Landon (Turner)."
Virginia Tech is the only FBS school that has extended Holmes a scholarship, while his teammate Landon Turner is one of the top offensive tackles on the east coast and a member of the Rivals250 to Watch for 2011. Virginia Tech is high on Turner's list, and not surprisingly, Holmes likes the Hokies a lot, too.
When asked whether it was possible that he might commit to Virginia Tech next weekend Holmes wasn't sure either way.
"I don't know yet," he responded, not ruling out that it could happen.
As a junior last fall Holmes rushed for 2,580 yards and 41 touchdowns, meaning he was responsible for more points than any other player in Virginia.
