Holmes names early favorite

Desean Holmes recently landed an offer from UCLA and he's definitely interested in the Bruins but it's their cross-town rival that leads in his recruitment.
"My favorite I would say is USC," Holmes said.

The 2015 wide receiver from Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany is a teammate of USC commit Steven Mitchell and that could play a factor in his recruitment.
So far, Holmes has landed offers from UCLA, Utah and Houston. He could not make it to the USC-UCLA game last weekend but said even though USC has a slight edge he's also highly interested in the Bruins.
"That game was really impressive," Holmes said.
"[The UCLA offer] is kind of a huge, big thing for me. I have to consider them a lot. It's fun but at the same time it's kind of stressful.
"My family loves UCLA and they're asking me what I think of them and all that and I'm just playing it slow and telling them I want to wait it out."
Recruiting has been busy for Holmes, one of the top targets on the Alemany offense along with Mitchell and Colorado commit Devin Ross.
Alabama has been showing interest and Holmes said Florida State sent a recruiting letter in recent weeks.
Since it's still so early, Holmes does not want to make any decisions yet. Many more programs are expected to get involved as this off-season gets underway.
