Holmes likes OU, AM Texas

Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff wide receiver Lendy Holmes is one of the top receivers in the state of Texas for the Class of 2004. Schools across the country are taking notice and are doing their best to lure his talents.

“Coach told me UCLA, Syracuse, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas and Texas A&M were by this past week,” the 6-foot-2, 180 pound Holmes said. “I’m wide open. I’m not favoring any school at this point.”
Most schools are recruiting Holmes as an athlete and giving him the opportunity to choose whether he will play cornerback or wide receiver.
“There are a few schools recruiting me for one of them and not the other. But several schools are recruiting me for both of them and can pick later. I don’t have a real preference I guess, right now. I just want to play football.”
Holmes attended the Oklahoma spring game earlier this spring.
“I enjoyed my time up at Oklahoma’s spring game,” Holmes said. “The crowd was amazing for a spring game. I’ve been to Texas and Texas A&M too. We’ll see how it goes.”
Holmes is looking closely at what schools can offer him academically.
“Academics is at the top of my list,” he said. “That is important. Then I’ll look for the football program and what it offers me.”
