Holmes laying low

Rockledge, Fla., inside linebacker Johnny Holmes blew up at several camps over the summer and is having a solid senior season and has a nice list of scholarship offers.
“I really don’t have any new offers right now,” Holmes said. “The main ones that I have offers are West Virginia, Ole Miss, East Carolina and Marshall. I’m hearing a lot from Florida and some others, but I don’t have an offer.”

The 6-foot-2, 213-pound Holmes runs the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds has a bench press of 265 pounds and a squat of 400 pounds.
“I went to the Florida-LSU game a few weeks ago and I really liked it,” Holmes said. “I really don’t know what to think about Florida now though. I knew all the coaches so it does change some things with them, but it will still be a great school.”
Holmes earned honorable mention honors the past two seasons after racking up 112 solo tackles, 95 assists, 14 sacks, 36 tackles for a loss and seven fumble recoveries as a junior.
“I really don’t have any favorites right now,” Holmes said. “I have not set up any official visits yet, but I am planning on doing that in the next few weeks.”
