Hollingsworth doubles his offers

Lee County, N.C. safety Jay Hollingsworth has doubled the number of scholarships he holds. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder now has four offers after a visit to one ACC school this past weekend.
"I got two more offers from Air Force on Thursday and then one from Virginia this past weekend on a visit," he said. "I'm very interested in the one from UVA. I like the NFL connections they have down there and the intensity of their practice. They've got great chemistry as a team and put quite a few players into the NFL. I also like that they are offering me at the position I want, running back."

What did Hollingsworth do on the visit to Charlottesville?
"When I got there I talked to some coaches and then Al Groh for about 15 minutes. That's when coach Groh read me my evaluation and I liked what I heard," he said. "During that time, he offered me and then I was shown around the campus and saw everything. When we were done touring I stepped into an offensive meeting and then watched practice.
"The practice was great and real intense. I liked what I saw out of the running backs."
Coming up this week, the North Carolina prospect plans to visit North Carolina State and he is considering a trip to Duke for the spring game next week.
Are there any leaders for Hollingsworth at this time?
"It's between Virginia and Duke," he said. "Both of them have offers on the table and are looking at me as a running back. I also like the education I'd get if I go to either school."
