Hollingshead talks recruiting

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Ever since a performance at the TCU Elite 11 Regional Workout that spotlighted him as one of the top quarterbacks in attendance, Rockwall (Texas) Heath quarterback Drew Hollingshead has seen an increase in recruiting attention. This weekend at the Texas State 7 on 7 Tournament, Hollingshead took another opportunity to showcase his skills.
"Things are going real good," Hollingshead said over the weekend. "Things have actually picked up quite a bit. I've started to get a lot more calls from different schools like A&M and Louisville. I actually got offered by Idaho State and New Mexico State so that was pretty good."

The offer from New Mexico State in particular stood out to the 6-foot-3, 290-pounder.
"New Mexico State was nice because of Hal Mumme," he said. "He's the originator of the spread so he knows what he's talking about. So that was a great honor picking that up from him."
One camp that Hollingshead has performed at during the summer was Kansas State. He hopes that his strong performance may be a prelude to an offer.
"I went to Kansas State and had a really good day," he said. "They were showing me a lot of interest so I'm just kind of waiting on them and seeing what they do as far as if they're going to offer."
Along with the schools that Hollingshead is already receiving heavy interest from, there are two schools that he has targeted that he hopes to hear from in the near future.
"The two schools I would definitely like to hear from are Kentucky and South Carolina," he said. "I feel those two offenses fit me pretty well as far as who they are trying to recruit. I feel like I fit their mold."
