Holland eyes Signing Day announcement

Jeffery Holland's original plan has been foiled.
He was supposed to fly to Oregon to compete in The Opening, a national football camp put on by Nike this summer. He was supposed to compete in the invitation-only event and announce his commitment from there. Problem is, nobody asked him to attend.

The Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian linebacker isn't losing much sleep over the situation, though. Plan B has already launched.
"I didn't get invited, so now I'm waiting for signing day," Holland said. "It's definitely Signing Day now. And I don't plan on cutting the list any more. I'm just going to pick one on Signing Day."
As of now, Holland has no visits, unofficial or otherwise, planned. Instead, he's focused on spring football. Still, that's not to say attention isn't still arriving. Coaches from UCLA, Ohio State, UCF dropped by Trinity Christian to see Holland and host of his highly regarded teammates on Thursday. And when asked which schools are recruiting him the hardest, the four-star prospect launches into a long list.
"A lot of them are coming at me hard," Holland said. "Florida State, Auburn, UCLA, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama, Texas … all of them."
Holland, who says he feels he already has every offer he'll collect, expects to see a parade of college coaches through his school during spring practice. He names no favorites in the process and refuses to discuss even a broad range of possible frontrunners.
"I'm still just trying to see," he said. "I'm just checking out all of the schools."
As a junior at Trinity a season ago, Holland, the No. 57 player in the Rivals100 presented by Under Armour, helped lead his team to a 12-1 record and a Florida state title.
