Hokies lead for TE Nosal

Virginia Beach (Va.) Floyd Kellam tight end Greg Nosal has racked up offers recently. According to his head coach, Chris Dewitt he is approximately up to 10 scholarships.
"I can't even keep track all the offers he's got," he said. "I know right now schools that have offered include Virginia Tech, Virginia, Connecticut, East Carolina, Kent, Akron and Marshall. There may be one from North Carolina too, but I'm not sure at this time."

Do any of the schools in particular stand out for the Hampton Roads prospect?
"I do know that Tech is out in front because I talked with Greg in the last few days," he stated. "He likes Virginia Tech a lot because of coach Newsome. We have gone to James Madison every year for camp as a team and Greg and coach Newsome have developed a relationship there. Also coach Stinespring has done a great job recruiting him as he constantly is in the building checking up on our players.
"On top of all that, his trip to the spring game a couple months back was head and shoulders above anything he expected with all the fans at the stadium and just the experience there. Overall it just seems like Virginia Tech is an easy fit because we have ties there with Brandon Pace and Demetrius Taylor and he feels comfortable with them."
With Virginia Tech standing out for his services, Dewitt feels Nosal could commit anytime.
"Every time I talk with him it seems that Greg will make a decision on his own schedule," he said. "It could be today or sometime this summer just before the football season. I'm leaving the decision completely up to Greg, but I do know he wants it over with before the season starts."
As schools continue to offer the star tight end, what makes him stand out as a player?
"He is a very good player that is athletic and big," Dewitt said. "He is long enough to play against defensive ends, but also runs extremely well to be a tight end. I personally feel he is a perfect fit at tight end because of his size. He also grades out to be a tremendous blocker. Along with that, he is a real good kid. Greg is an honor student and already fully qualified."
