Chantilly (Va.) Westfield wide receiver Eddie Royal is being recruited hard by several major programs. He may be leaning towards staying in-state.
"Virginia Tech is probably my leader," said Royal. "They're going to be part of the best conference in the country starting next year, so the level of competition is going to be incredible. They already have a really good program. It seems like every year they're in the top 20 or 25. That's important, because winning is definitely a priority."
Who else is Royal interested in?
"Marshall is number two right now, but they aren't far behind," he said. "They would get me the ball a lot. They don't recruit the biggest names every year so I think if I got there and learned the offense I would make a big impact. Syracuse is another possibility, and so is Tennessee. All four of those schools have offered."
Royal has led Westfield to a perfect 8-0 record thus far, catching 23 balls for 400 yards and seven touchdowns.
