Hokies land prep stud

The Virginia Tech Hokies hosted nine official visitors this past weekend, but their latest commit wasn't on campus. Who is it?
"He just committed to Virginia Tech today," said Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military head coach Robert Prunty of safety Corey Gordon. "He's a player. He'll play free safety or rover for the Hokies and he had plenty of other options. He just loved their defense and the coaches."

Prunty said that Gordon had offers from Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Louisville and others but chose the Hokies just a few weeks after they offered.
"They saw him at our game against the Tech JV Team a few weeks ago and they loved him," he said. "He's a big hitter, that's his specialty. They offered him right on the spot."
Gordon hails from Gainesville, Fla. and slipped under the radar of many last year due to different reasons. Now the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is ready to play in the Big East.
"He's really worked hard and coach (Jason) Lee has done a great job with him here," Prunty said. "He'll fight for playing time right away there."
