Hokies land big-time DB
The announcement isn't set to occur until late Thursday or Friday, but Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte cornerback Rod Council has committed to Virginia Tech.
Three sources close to the situation have confirmed that Council, a 5-foot-11, 175-pounder, has committed to Virginia Tech over Virginia. The three-star cornerback also visited Michigan and Notre Dame, but was apparently blow away by his official visit to Blacksburg from Dec. 11-12.
Council is ranked as the No. 19 cornerback in the country by Rivals.com. He had 10 interceptions this season to push his career total to 26. He is currently at Shrine Bowl practice and expected to announce there within the next few days.
