"It was very tough decision for Tony. He visited both schools multiple times, but today he committed to Virginia Tech," said Cooke of the 6-foot-3, 305-pound lineman who runs the 40-yard dash in 5.4 seconds.
After visiting both schools, what made the difference for North?
"He talked everything over with me and he was having tough time with his decision. In the end, it came down to his comfort level. He just felt that Virginia Tech was the place for him. They have an immediate need for offensive line help at Virginia Tech and he has a really good relationship with the coaches there," said Cooke.
Although the decision came down to Virginia Tech and NC State, North also had scholarship offers from Virginia and West Virginia. North was also receiving interest from Maryland, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
