Hokies add familiar name

The Virginia Tech Hokies welcomed a familiar name to their football program this afternoon.
"I committed to Virginia Tech," said 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker Xavier Adibi from Hampton (Va.) Phoebus. "It came down to Tennessee and Virginia Tech and I just felt more comfortable at Tech. Tennessee was a great place and I had a blast on my visit, but I've known the coaches and players at Tech for so long, it's home."

Adibi gave Rivals100.com the exclusive news of his commitment at 1:30 P.M. EST with the promise we'd hold it until his press conference at school at 2 P.M.
"When I sat down with my parents and went over a checklist between the two schools, it came out very close," he said. "It was closer than I thought it would be, but that's because both schools are great. I can't wait to get started at Tech, I'm going to major in business management and I'm hoping to play as soon as possible. The education I can get at Tech was a big factor."
Adibi, the No. 3 player in the state of Virginia, joins his brother at Virginia Tech -- defensive lineman Nathaniel Adibi.
"It had nothing to do with my decision, I want to stress that," he said. "I went into this looking at schools as if my brother didn't play for any of them. I picked Tech for the school and coaches."
