Hogs offer Bluegrass wideout

Kentucky’s Paducah Tilghman High School yielded a big play-maker in George Wilson the last four years at Arkansas.
Now it appears the Razorbacks could be calling on another Blue Tornado wideout.

“Arkansas just offered me this week,” Curtis Hamilton said. “Coach Danny Nutt has been recruiting me for a while, but they just made it official. I’m supposed to go out there on a visit this weekend, but I may have to reschedule it. We have a basketball tournament that I can’t miss. I’ll try to get out there before the 31st.”
Hamilton (6-1, 170, 4.45) caught 61 passes for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He suffered a serious foot injury prior to his senior season, and missed half the season, but still put up a respectable 29 catches for 600 yards and eight scores.
He currently has offers from Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky, but the Hogs have a big edge.
“I’ve been out there a few times in the past,” he said. “George (Wilson) is my cousin, so I’ve been out there to spend time and work out with him. I like the campus and the coaches. Coach Nutt is a good guy. I think he’d be good to play for.”
Hamilton visited Western Kentucky last weekend. Asked how the I-AA Hilltoppers could challenge the SEC Razorbacks, he said: “Well, the big thing is I know I’d be able to play a lot there. They’ve recruited me hard. They say they don’t have many receivers, and I’d get a chance to start from Day One. I’ve gotten to know (WKU quarterback) Justin Haddix a little bit, and it would be fun to play with him. Plus, they have good coaches who have built a strong program. They were national champions last year.”
