Hogan is headed to Georgetown

Mose Hogan has led his team to two state championship games in the last two seasons and he's taken care of his business in the classroom at the academically challenging Detroit Country Day School. Now the 5-10, 200-pound prospect is going to take his game to the nation's capital and play for Georgetown.
"I just went to Georgetown this weekend and it's the perfect place for me," Hogan said. "I want to be a lawyer when I grow up and it's a great academic school in the middle of Washington D.C. The academics are definitely good, but it doesn't hurt that it's the most beautiful area and that stuff was a big factor with me.

"I just felt right at home and their guys were just like me. They were trying to excel on the field, but they had big academic plans afterwards."
In the classroom Hogan carries a 3.4 GPA. On the football field this past fall he totaled 110 tackles, three forced fumbles and two sacks to earn all-area recognition for the second straight year. His play on the field earned him attention from several schools before he decided on the Hoyas.
"After the season I started getting some offers," Hogan said. "I got offered by Dayton, I got offered by Colgate and Michigan actually called me and offered me a preferred walk-on. I really narrowed it down to Michigan and Georgetown and I had a Michigan visit scheduled for Jan. 31.
"I feel relieved. This process was tough. I was on a rollercoaster and I thought a lot of coaches played with me who said they were going to offer me and didn't do it, but I also got a lot of attention from a lot of different schools so it wasn't bad for me at all and I feel pretty good now.
Hogan runs a 4.6 40-yard dash, bench presses 315 pounds and has a 33-inch vertical. He could project at either the strong safety or outside linebacker positions in college and Georgetown would like to see him on the field as soon as possible.
"They have me in a spot where I am supposed to be playing really, really early," Hogan said. "I'm going to have a spot on the team at the rover/strong safety position."
