Hoffpauir talks about future

Zach Hoffpauir took his official visit to Stanford last weekend and loved it and now the Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial safety is thinking about his options while staying committed to Cal.
The three-star prospect said his trip was great, especially meeting with the players and seeing everything Stanford has to offer, and now the 5-foot-11, 195-pound standout has some things to think about.

"It was great," Hoffpauir said. "I had a lot of fun and I got to do a lot of fun stuff while I was up there. I really liked the players while I was up there. It was just a good experience overall.
"I am committed to Cal right now. I'm waiting to get admitted to Stanford and then after that I don't know what's going on. I'm committed to Cal right now and that's where I'm looking."
Hoffpauir, rated No. 24 at safety in the 2012 class and No. 11 in the Arizona state rankings by Rivals.com, said he wasn't sure what would happen in his recruitment if he's admitted to Stanford. He should learn soon whether the school has accepted him.
As for this weekend, Hoffpauir is planning to visit Arizona State and he said he's going to give the Sun Devils a fair look.
The three-star prospect plans to play football and baseball in college and that's an important part of his deliberations as thing continue toward signing day.
At this point in his recruitment, Cal and Stanford are standing out the most but Hoffpauir said Arizona State is still definitely in the picture.
"They have been trying to get involved," Hoffpauir said. "I'm probably going to take a visit to Arizona State (this weekend). We'll see how that goes."
Hoffpauir has been committed to the Golden Bears since late September.
