Hoffpauir could land Big Ten offer

Zach Hoffpauir has not scheduled any official visits yet and doesn't have a timetable for a decision especially since more programs could end up offering the Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial prospect.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound recruit said Cal and Stanford will almost definitely get official visits and that Penn State could as well. Apparently, the Nittany Lions have told Hoffpauir that if he visits then an offer would come his way. Those three programs stand out a little bit but Hoffpauir doesn't want to name any favorites.

"I haven't set any official visits yet," Hoffpauir said. "I plan to but I'm not really sure exactly yet when I'm thinking about committing. I like a couple schools but I'm not ready to give a list or anything like that.
"I think Stanford and Cal will definitely get officials. Penn State might get one too but I have to talk to some of the coaches and my parents about it.
"(Penn State) said if I take an official there that they'd offer me when I was there. I like those three but it's not like I'm only looking at those three. I'm looking at a lot of the schools that have offered me so I'm not ready to give a list. I'm trying to slowly go through it."
Air Force, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Northwestern, Stanford, Toledo, UCLA, Utah State, Washington and others have offered Hoffpauir, who scored three touchdowns in Centennial's season-opening victory against Kellis this past weekend.
Rivals.com rates the three-star prospect as the No. 21 safety in the 2012 class and the No. 11 prospect in the Arizona state rankings.
Since Hoffpauir hasn't narrowed down his list and isn't sure when he'll make his commitment there are no favorites that he's making public at this point.
"I don't know if I'll definitely take visits first," Hoffpauir said.
"I think I'll know when I'm ready to make a decision and I don't really have a timeline. When I'm really comfortable with one school that's when I'll make my decision."
