Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County running back/safety Cedric Hodges has two schools at the top of his list with what could be some important camp appearances coming up this month.

“UGA and Florida State are my favorites,” he said. “I have them tied for No. 1. I grew up watching UGA, and they’ve always been my favorite team, but Florida State was always the next team I followed, and they’ve offered me a scholarship.
“I’m going to camp at UGA and Florida State later this month, so maybe I’ll be able to tell which one is on top after that. If I get an offer from UGA, it will be a really hard decision.”
Hodges (6-1, 181, 4.45) is also getting looks from Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Ohio State, Nebraska and Alabama, among others. The latter three have yet to offer.
They’re all pursuing the player who rushed for 1,399 yards and 19 touchdowns in only 10 games as a junior. He’s also projected as a defensive back by many scouts.
“Most of them tell me they like me as an ‘athlete,’ either offense or defense,” he said. “I don’t really care which one. I’m probably a little better at running back, but I just like to play. I want to go somewhere that I can get on the field.”
Hodges recently took the ACT, but has yet to receive his score. He says he needs a solid result to help him gain eligibility. He’s been working to raise his core GPA from its current 2.3 position.
