Hodges not offered by UGA

Despite published reports, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County running back Cedric Hodges is not going to sign a national letter of intent with the University of Georgia.

According to sources close to the situation and coaching sources at Houston County, Hodges has not been officially offered a scholarship by the Dawgs because of his academic situation. Hodges is a long way away from being a full qualifier and he is likely heading to a prep school or junior college. There is even a possibility that Hodges might have to repeat his senior season of high school.
“He hasn’t been offered a scholarship,” Houston County coach Doug Johnson said.
There is a possibility that Hodges might eventually sign with Georgia in a few years when he finished at prep school, but he is very unlikely to be part of the Class of 2004 a source said.
Hodges is also being recruited by Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Middle Tennessee State. He reports scholarship offers from all of those teams, except from Georgia.
