Hippeard gets first offer

Stafford (Va.) Colonial Forge High quarterback Randy Hippeard (6-foot-3, 185 pounds, 4.7-second 40-yard dash) has been putting up very good numbers all season, but for some reason has not gained the attention from college recruiters that he has felt he deserved. That changed recently however as one school stepped in and offered him a free ride.
“Akron has offered, and Northeastern said that I was on the top of their list,” Hippeard commented on the recent flurry of interest in his direction. “Georgetown said I was really high on their list, and Delaware is coming to my game Friday night.”

Akron is trying to get him in on an official visit, while the others all want him to drop by unofficially. All have called recently in addition to the Richmond Spiders.
Randy said he plans to sit down after the season to make a decision, but between high school football and school work, he has not had a chance to look at his options.
As a junior Hippeard passed for more than 1,600 yards and 14 touchdowns, while running for two scores, and has eclipsed that mark already as a senior. With one regular season game remaining and at least one playoff game assured, he has already thrown for more than 1800 yards with 19 touchdowns. A win this upcoming Friday will give them a home game in the first round of the playoffs.
