Hinton talks about PSU commitment

Secaucus, N.J. offensive lineman Austin Hinton committed to Penn State last week. The 6-foot-4, 279-pounder explains why he decided on the Nittany Lions so early.
"I had three favorites -- Penn State, Rutgers and Boston College and PSU was the first school to offer me," said Hinton, who will likely play guard at Penn State. "They showed the most interest and I really got to like the coaches and the campus and area when I camped there."

Hinton, who also had an offer from Clemson, was recruited by Fran Ganter and felt at home at PSU.
"I was treated really well out there and they made me feel like I was one of their top recruits," he said. "I have been to both BC and Rutgers three times each and didn't get that same feeling. I haven't heard a response to my commitment to PSU from either. I am solid to Penn State and can't wait to play there."
Hinton attended our Rivals100 New Jersey Junior Day and was one of the most physically impressive players on hand. He has great size and a frame that can hold 300+ pounds.
On the field, Hinton is a mauler who is very raw but has excellent run blocking skills and overpowers opponents with his size and strength. He will likely play inside in college because he needs work on his footspeed.
