THE LATEST: Anthony Hines does not have any plans to narrow his list further and he is not ready to declare any one of his top 20 schools higher than the others. He may take some unofficial visits during the season, but he does not have any visits scheduled at this time. Now, he plans to focus on his junior season and Plano East.
IN HIS WORDS: "It just makes it a little easier not having to focus on all of the other schools. It's a huge list and narrowing it down allows me to manage it easier while being able to focus on the season."
FROM THE COACH: "The best thing he can do right now is concentrate on being the best high school player he can for Plano East, his coaches, and this team. The only thing I would say is you might see him on a little offense also this year. A great player like Anthony Hines I think you have to get the most you can out of him. And more importantly the way he works that's Division I right there in itself. The two what he does in the classroom I think if you look at his choices - Vanderbilt, SMU - those schools are exceptional. I'm as proud of Anthony in the classroom as I am on the field, and he's an outstanding young man of character and great things are going to happen especially if he can focus on being the best high school football player he can be." - Joey McCullough, Plano East Head Coach
ANALYST TAKE: Hines is quick to point out his list is subject to change, and since it is so early in his recruiting process that is not much of a surprise. He does not list anyone as a leader or above the rest of his top 20. Forced to make a prediction keep an eye on Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Coaching staffs at both schools have forged long standing and strong relationships with Hines, and he has mentioned both as being high on his list in the past. USC is another school to watch. The Trojans definitely caught his attention with an offer, and he has ties to the West coast. That said it looks like there is a long way to go before he is ready to make his college choice.
