Hines adding offers

Plano (Texas) Plano East 2017 linebacker Anthony Hines has had no problem catching the attention of college coaches.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound defender reached double digit offers before the start of his sophomore season, and he added offers from Oregon State and Texas in the last week.

"I think very highly of both of those programs and when I received both of them it was a great feeling," Hines said.
The Texas offer comes on the heels of a weekend unofficial visit to Austin.
"I'd been talking to them for quite some time, and I just took a visit up there last weekend to see the game against West Virginia," Hines said. "They played extremely well and I got good vibes from the coaching staff so it was a good visit overall."
There were a couple of aspects of the trip which caught his attention.
"The coaching staff was all down to earth and you can tell they know what they're doing," Hines said. "The stadium was extremely impressive. Also it was easier because they've also come down to our school. Coach Rumph has come down to see me a couple of times and I've started a good relationship with him."
Before all the offers began to over flow the Mississippi State Bulldogs were one of the first to take notice. Coach Dan Mullen and his staff received an early commitment from Hines, and he describes his commitment as solid.
"It's been a crazy ride," Hines said Mississippi State. "Ever since last year I knew they were a young team with a lot of potential and they're tapping their potential. They've been playing extremely well and it's really impressive. They have a challenge coming up and I'm going to that game. It will be interesting to see."
In addition to the stop in Tuscaloosa, Hines and his family plan to stop through Auburn on Sunday before heading back to Plano.
