Hilton racking up solid offers

Youngstown (Ohio) East defensive back Carlos Hilton might be small in stature, but he's been racking up a lot of big attention during the spring evaluation process.
The 5-foot-7, 157-pounder has heard from a slew of solid programs and even has some scholarship offers on his resume.

"Kent State, Eastern Michigan, Akron and Cincinnati have offered me," he said. "I'm also hearing a lot from Buffalo. My favorite college is Michigan. But of all the schools that have offered me I would say Cincinnati is up there."
Why does Hilton like the Bearcats?
"There's not just one thing I like about them, it's just my brother plays there," he said. "They send me letters. They have came to my schools this spring and they have called me."
Hilton is also getting regular contact in the spring from Illinois, Iowa, Syracuse and West Virginia. Hilton plans to be busy some this summer.
"I am going to a few camps to prove myself," he said. "I am going to sit with my brother, talk with him and see if he can tell me which camps I should go to that can help me the most. He plays on the next level and can help me get ready."
Hilton's high school coach thinks he projects as a cornerback, but Hilton also things he could play anywhere in the defensive backfield.
"I would rather play safety, honestly," he said. "If I play safety, it makes me feel like I control everything. I play on a young team in school now, and I had to step up. I feel I should be a leader of a team.
"I help out the young linebackers on my team. Even though I never really played linebacker. I am like the second eyes of the defense. I have to make a guess on what I am supposed to do and how I can help them."
