Hill staying in-state

Compton (Calif.) turned the corner this past year and has become a program to watch over the next few years. A big part of that was the play of two-way lineman Porter Hill who made his college choice over the weekend.
Hill, 6-3, 265 pounds took his first official visit this past weekend to Fresno State and committed before returning home.

"I loved it at Fresno State," Hill said. "I was thinking about committing the whole time but waited until this morning when I had my meeting with the coaches.
"It was an easy decision actually, there wasn't a single thing about Fresno State I didn't like. They have a great coaching staff, a winning tradition, I like their style of play and it's close to home.
"Coach Hill is a real aggressive coach and that's my style of play as well. They come after you on defense and I'm looking forward to getting on the field and making some noise.
"I think I can play anywhere on the defensive line but they want me to play tackle. That's where I played this past season so I'm comfortable there.
"It's just a great fit for me at Fresno State. All the players were like a big family, the guys on the team and the recruits there. We all bonded and I can't wait to be a Bulldog."
