Hill better than ever

Miami (Fla.) Monsignor Pace offensive lineman Javon Hill has undergone a transformation. Even he admits that last year he was overweight and didn't play hard every play. Now he's dropped 25 pounds and has taken on a new attitude and is dominating the competition.
"Duke and South Florida have been calling me regularly," Hill said. "Auburn called me this week for the first time and that was really cool. They came by my school last week and told me that they were going to be calling me and they did."

The 6-foot-4, 331-pound offensive lineman attended the NIKE in Miami where he ran a five second shuttle time and posted a 22-inch vertical jump. Last year he led the way for running back Condredge Collins who signed with Pitt.
"I have not attended any games yet this fall," Hill said. "I have just tryed to say focused on football and everything. I have also had a job that I just quit a couple of weeks ago where I had to work pretty much every Saturday so I could not take visits or whatever."
Hill carries a 3.1 GPA and projects as a full qualifier. He has a 350-pound bench press.
"My favorite school might be Florida, but they haven't called me yet," Hill said. "I really like Auburn too, they have that run first mentality which I like. I am also really interested in Duke and South Florida as well. Duke has really done a good job of recruiting me, they call a lot and send handwritten letters and stuff."
