Highlands Ranch QB Jake Rubley is a stud 2021 prospect

Highlands Ranch (Colo.) quarterback Jake Rubley is one of the top passers in the class of 2021. There's no doubt about that.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound rising junior already holds Power Five conference offers from Colorado, Iowa, Northwestern, South Carolina, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.

And Rubley comes from a football family. His father, TJ, played for the Broncos, Packers, and Rams in the NFL, and has two older brothers that have played college football. The Rubley family is a family of quarterbacks.

Jake Rubley may have the best potential of the entire group. His brothers didn't get much recruiting attention before his senior season, and Jake got his first offer when he was a high school freshman (South Carolina).

"It was a big surprise to me," Rubley said of his early recruiting process. "I didn't think it was going to happen. It's been hectic with how fast the recruiting process is going."

More offers will probably be on their way as well. Schools such as Notre Dame, Penn State, Miami, Oklahoma State, Washington, Stanford, and USC are express interest in Rubley.

"I just want to get to the highest level," Rubley said on what he's looking for in a school. "I want to go to a school that can help me go to the NFL. I want to play for a guy that can trust me and I can trust him in making the right decisions for me."

The Colorado Buffaloes were the second school to offer Rubley, coming back in June of 2018. That was under the Mike MacIntyre regime, and the Mel Tucker staff has reaffirmed CU's offer to Rubley.

"I just got off the phone with Coach Tucker not too long ago," Rubley said. "He seems very interested in me. He's come out to my school and saw me. Coach Johnson has come out. It was unfortunate I couldn't go to their (junior) day; I was out of town that weekend."

Rubley has praises of the Buffs' new head man.

"I'm very excited for Coach Tucker to be at Colorado. I think he's going to do great things for them and create them to be hopefully a championship team."

Rubley has a very busy spring visit schedule. Along with planning to visit Colorado and Colorado State, he plans to head east to check out South Carolina, Duke, NC State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
