Hicks nearing first offer

Big athletes are hard to come by. College coaches crave them and when you find one as talented as Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson athlete Michael Hicks college coaches are going to express their interest.
“I don’t have any official written offers yet, but a lot of college coaches have told my coach that they were going to come by in May and check my out and that they would probably offer,” said Hicks.

Playing as a quarterback, running back, defensive back and receiver, Hicks racked up 853 passing yards, 243 yards rushing and 195 yards receiving. Those numbers aren’t staggering, but they are still impressive considering that he was used in a number of different ways.
So where does he hope to play in college?
“I don’t really have a position that I prefer over the ones. I think that I have the best build for wide receiver or safety. I’m tall and thin, but built so I think I could fit there well. I know that Georgia Tech likes me as a safety.”
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Hicks runs a 4.6 second 40-yard dash, has a 265 pound bench press and 455 pound squat.
Hicks stated that he does not currently have a set list of schools that he is considering, but he did mention a few. Some of the schools mentioned were Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Georgia, Maryland and Florida.
“I want to go to a school with a solid academic background. I would like to stay kind of close to home, at least somewhere in the South. I’m basically just looking for a nice campus atmosphere where I fit in well.”
Hicks plans to attend the NIKE camp at Georgia Tech on May 8th.
